YHC has a small student to faculty ratio that allows students to form meaningful relationships with faculty. Mentored research experiences (MREs) take advantage of this strength by creating high quality and educationally meaningful faculty-mentor relationships. Research shows that students that form mentoring relationships with faculty show improvement in motivation, engagement, achievement, and intellectual development. One of the strongest indicators of student success in college is the formation of strong relationships with faculty. Faculty in all departments provide opportunities for research through independent and directed study. Discover examples of recent MREs here.
